This book has a few good pages to color and quite a few bold pages that are rather "in your face" to color. I tried to give it to a friend, but they did not want it. It will be a BINGO GIFT.....

Love it! Bought a handful of books as I'm just now getting into coloring. I almost didn't get this book, thinking I'd like the others better. This has instantly became my favorite! Different levels of detailing from page to page so that you have options to fit your mood. Pages thick enough to use gel pens and not bleed through to the next page. LOTS of pages, so many to choose from. Book has easily 2 to 3 times more pages than other books I've bought. Interesting, different patterns. I'm posting two photos. First photo has more intricate detailing and is the first page I completed in the book (used gel pens). Second photo is of a work in progress with colored pencils.

I purchased the Stress Relieving Patterns Adult Coloring Book based on the plethora of positive reviews - I haven't been disappointed. It has a generous number of images (46), all on super bright white paper ranging from intermediate to advanced patterns. Every image was centered just right on their pages.It's not exactly for beginners, which you can see from the first image I have posted (I'm semi-new to adult coloring books), but with patience and practice, this book is well worth the investment. The paper is a bit thin compared to others I have, however each page is one-sided so either tearing out the page or placing a blank piece of paper between the pages prevents the dreaded ink bleed-through. I have had great success using my Sharpie Ultra-Fine Point markers and Crayola colored pencils in this book.Two improvements I would like to see are thicker paper and perforated pages.Most importantly of all, it has been an integral part of keeping my anxiety and depression at bay. As a matter of fact, I took this book with me on a visit to see my in-laws, and the next thing I knew, four family members came to the table and asked if they, too, could color. It was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves and having pleasant conversation at the same time. I left the book on the table the whole week so everyone could use it whenever they felt the need.

We place adult coloring books in the waiting room of the hospital area in which I work. We've just added this one to our library and I'm a huge fan of the designs. Patients and their families can color in the books while waiting and easily rip out the pages if they want to take their artwork home with them, or they can leave it for other people to admire or add to. We've occasionally get people mentioning how much they enjoyed using the books but what really speaks for itself is how quickly they get completely used up!

Great product. I understand why it is a best seller. I've nearly used up the entire book already and am looking to purchase another from this seller.

The patterns are nice, challenging and at the same time also relaxing. Definitely zen-ish.But I do have major issues with this coloring book. First, the paper is thin. Can’t use colored markers because they bleed easily.The pages are not perforated so you can’t tear the page off and color on a flat surface like most of the coloring books I’ve bought (for much less mulah, I might add).And worst of all, some of the designs go all the way to the book binding, making it impossible to reach even with a fine point marker! Kind of ruins the coloring experience when you can’t color the entire design. If you have any level of OCD, this coloring book is not for you.Other than that, the designs are great....aaand that’s the one star it deserved.

I love this coloring book. It really works to lower stress. It has complicated patterns that would not work for small children. I recommend using something with a fine point such as colored pencils rather than crayons.I have anxiety and ADD and this really helps calm me down and keep me occupied for an extended period so I can relax and regroup. I keep it in my backpack so that I can have it readily accessible no matter where I go.Here is why I think it works well.1) It provides a focussed activity to keep your mind busy.2) The pattern is established so you do not have to deal too much with engaging your creative brain like you would if drawing from scratch.3) It complexity as compared to a child's coloring book keeps you occupied longer.4) There is a sense of accomplishment when you finish a page and make something beautiful.5) There is a sense of joy and wonder you experience that we sometimes forget about as adults.I seriously want to hang my finished pictures on the fridge.

The 2019 version contains very little information in it. Most of the book is just links that require you to visit their website.

This book is a complete disappointment half of the information isn’t even in it you have to go online and pay again to get info that should have be in the book.

Don't get the kindle edition it always hangs and I cant even open the contents most of the time when I need it, total waste of money. I would gladly return it if I can!

I'm in nursing school. This book is a God send. I'd write more, but I don't have time because I'm in nursing school.

the book is awesome. Unfortunately, it is limited and what it covers. They are constantly directing you to their website, which of course is that additional expense. Did you provide a 10-day trial, but it was nowhere near sufficient. No student pricing for the website.

Used this type of book as one of my resources Since 2013. Really useful as I took a locum tenans position in a women’s prison and providers could not use any electronic devices/resources.

I wish this came as a true ebook instead of a heavy hard copy, but I really like this book. I will be subscribing to the app for clinicals.

I want to give this book five stars, as it is very interesting, but the fact that every other page is stuck to the one before it, which requires you to peel the pages apart (not an easy task), makes me angry. I paid a lot of money for this book, and I don't know if I am going to keep it, because I don't think I want to devote an entire day of my life to making it readable. Whoever is responsible for the production of this book--the person who approved the ultra thin stick-together pages--needs to spend the rest of his or her life peeling apart all the books before they are shipped to consumers.I guess if you don't want to take time off from work to make this book readable, you can simply give up and call it "500 Poses by Coco Rocha," because that's all you can see without a whole lot of effort.

This books is trash. Horrible resolution and editing of the subject in the book. This is not a pose book. This a collection of random photos of the subject jumping around. The photographer didn’t even use strobes strong enough to freeze the action in many of the photos. Subject is completely overexposed in editing to compensate for probably bad lighting and underexposure.Don’t waste your money

I've bought this book used. But even so all the pages are stuck together so you have to peel apart 500 pages haha(it looked untouched, although once they are peeled, they stay apart). So there are 2 pages per pose, which it looks okay but for 1000 poses(2000 pages or so) it should really only be 1 per page. Crazy! As it is, the book is bulky and thick. The pages are very thin and do bend easily. But for half the price, i was more concerned about the quality of the poses and content.. obviously. The lighting is okay, not going to complain. So minus 1 star for the book quality. That's really where the book lacks. For the recommended retail value of $60, the poses are worth it. The book quality is not. I still would recommend it though for serious creatives.Only finished up to pose 350, but wow! Lots of thought was put into the artistic/dance inspired poses. It'll definitely take my photography to the next level.Ive always had a liking towards ballet / abstract poses used in a photographic way and this book delivers just that. :).

I really don't know what the complaints are here, as seen in other reviews. The book is exactly what it says on the tin; it never purported to be anything else. 1,000 fascinating poses by Coco Rocha. That's what it *is*, and it's very useful to me as I pose figures in the 3D/CGI domain. Yes, the paperstock is whisper-thin, and occasionally I need to glide my finger between stuck pages... but so what? The poses are mostly very modern-looking, as though from modern dance, but there are some classic, "old-fashioned" poses in there, too. The chunky, heavy volume looks chic and handsome, and I am perfectly pleased with the book. What is the "other thing" that the complainers here were looking for, I wonder?

Well, honestly for the $40 I paid for this book, it is not "horrible" like the other reviewers have claimed. The book has its flaws with very thin sticky pages, but once separated the visual quality is very good. What I do find is that I quickly became bored flipping through the unstuck pages...perhaps I could have topped at 100 poses. It reminds me of my ten thousand images that I really wish someone else would go through and pull the best of so I didn't have to do the hard work of pairing them down.My intention was to gain inspiration for doing artistic photography and it still may have value, once I put my mind on the task of selecting the poses that are unique from the majority which are variations of movement as others have said.The price; it isn't worth returning as it is indeed 1000 photographs of the model doing her thing....and there is at least $40 worth of good poses in there somewhere.

I really love Coco and admire her greatly, and she has done a fantastic job in the making of this book with Steven. Like the other reviewers said, the pages are thin and I fear ripping them because they are stuck together. But aside from all that, by content, this is what I think of the book.I find this book to be a fantastic work of art, but I feel like it is a lot more of capturing dance poses than the study of pose/posing as a model. The poses she has are hardly those you see in editorial prints or lifestyle prints. A lot of the poses really look like dancing or acting poses. She has goofy expressions in a lot of them and very dynamic movement poses, or storytelling poses. I haven't looked through all 1,000 poses yet but it is a lot more artistic moment-capturing in style than I expected, which was really being able to study posing coming from such a successful high-fashion model. 1,000 poses is a challenge and I greatly respect and admire the work Coco and Steven put into making this book, but I guess I wasn't expecting it to be so dancer-like. To shoot 1,000 print and editorial looks would be a serioussss challenge though. She is also wearing the same outfit in the whole book and the photography look is the same - like the one on the edge spine of the book - which I suppose makes sense given the "challenge," but makes it even more of an acting/dancing "poses" book to me. Also, because her style of posing in general involves a lot of movement, it's really hard to "study," in my opinion. It's a great show-off work of art between Coco and Steven though, truly incredible collaboration.

This book is excellent, it has really inspired me in my work. It is a must have for every model.

This book has already been used for reference on modeling shoots. Haven't even begun to crack what it contains.

I purchased this book based on its title "The History of the Church in Art" which implied an illustrated chronological history of important events of the Church. Well, it isn't, not really. The book is arranged primarily by THEMES -- i.e., liturgical objects and furnishings, clothes, vestments, symbolic animals, monk, priest, bishop, etc., so if you're expecting an illustrated chronological history of the church, give this book a pass. It is not a history book. There is, however, a short section on "episodes in the history of the church" (about 50 pages of this 380-page book) but not enough on the subject in my opinion to merit its title. Well illustrated, easy to read and lots of information that is why I've decided to keep it. 3 STARS,

As someone who has an art history degree, I find this entire series (Guide to Imagery) a fantastic reference source for people of all interest levels. The books are broken up into sections for easy reference. For example, this book had a section on all of the artifacts used during a mass. They define the item and its use, and then give examples of that object in an artwork.I purchased this book for a friend of my father's who works in the Church. He found it to be incredibly in-depth and well researched (and he knows his stuff).

This is an excellent book. It is not for a beginner, however. If you need an introduction to MTS, then try out Wrox's other MTS book, "MTS MSMQ with VB and ASP" (what a great title), which is also excellent and gives a higher level introductory view. I read the MTS MSMQ book and immediately ordered this book for the more advanced material. It's not rocket science, however, and I don't know why a previous reviewer had so much trouble with it. The book does assume that you are already familiar with objects, VB, databases, etc. If you are a total beginner, don't start here. Try Peter Wright's "Beginning" Wrox books, which do a good job of getting you up to speed on the basics.I gave this book four stars rather than five for two reasons: one, I actually learned a lot more about the proper way to use MTS from a series of articles on vb2themax.com--alost none of this in-the-trenches material was included in this book. The second reason was that I wished that the book had more theory to go along with the excellent nuts-and-bolts material. What I mean is that there is plenty of great coverage here of how MTS works, how the distributed processing and transaction management works, how to set up and adminster MTS, plus good chapters on security, debugging, and COM+. I wish, however, that there was more material discussing the design considerations for stateless objects and MTS class design at a system level. This is not to say that there is none of this material--there is, I just wanted more. If you are already good at conceiving class designs and hierarchies, then transitioning to the stateless paradigm should not be too painful.One other quibble: somehow the terms "object" and "class" have been suplanted by the term "component". A component is not an object, and vice versa, but now the terminology has become so bastardized that all these terms are interchangeable. This is less the fault of this book and more the fault of Microsoft for calling objects "components" within MTS itself. Imagine Microsoft confusing things by muddying the vocabulary waters...Despite my quibbles, as I said this is an excellent book for an experienced VB programmer who needs to learn most of the ins and outs of MTS. I have not encountered a better MTS book.

The only regret I have is that I took a class and read another book before I picked up this book. This book covered everything I needed to know to get started writing MTS applications. And this is a first for a computer reference book, it was easy to read. Wrox's web site is very useful too. Full code examples for easy download and a message center for communicating with other programmers. In this case, this book was just what I needed.

Matt Bortniker has written a great reference! Every facet of the subject is well laid out with relevant examples (the only bothersome aspect of this is having to go out to the web and download them). Some of the chapters include:MTS and the Distributed EnvironmentIntroducing MTS ExplorerCOM and MTS ArchitectureTransaction ProcessingDesigning MTS Components and InterfacesBuilding MTS ComponentsManaging Components and PackagesImplementing Security (a real biggy for me)Debugging MTS Components (another tricky subject, well covered)AdministrationData Services and MTSMTS and the InternetCOM+Also included are a complete application (Sales Order App) and an MTS type library reference (this was really nice to have).Downsides: No CD-ROM and they really squashed the print in tight in some places. Everything is well laid out and explained clearly. I have found this to be one of my more used COM books. A nice index rounds out the whole package. Well worth the purchase price. A must have if you plan on learning intermediate to advanced topics in VB and MTS.

Somehow, this book, doesn't really warrant a Professional Tag to it, I was expecting a more exhaustive treatment of MTS particularly in improving performance. Which is very important when it comes to developing in ASP and VB COM. The author treated this area rather trivially, glancing through the topic with some minor tips that any God fearing vb programmer already knows.Rename it as Beginning VB 6 MTS programming and it will really fit my expectations as the author pretty much touched the surfaces of MTS on a very broad basis.The book will be really beneficial though for folks who's been programming in VB6 client and moving towards COM developement.Do hope that wrox can come up with a very 'PROFESSIONAL' book on ASP, VBCOM and MTS to tackle topics like program design and performance.

If you're an intermediate+ VB programmer and want to learn COM/DCOM concepts, DNA, MTS, and transaction control via MTS, look no further.This is a real programmer-to-programmer book and has become the book I turn to when I need a reference regarding developing components for use in distributed applications.The author's coverage of COM/DCOM architecture is very thorough and presented perfectly. It's a tough topic, but the author guides the reader through it.Microsoft's DNA architecture is plainly spelled out, and the author does a great job defining where MTS and components fit in.I can find nothing wrong with this book. I highly recommend it.

This is an excellent Book. I have bought this book almost a year ago, and this book is one of the few books that I was encouraged to finish it from cover to cover. I did not only benefit from it getting to know Microsoft Transaction Server (since I never got the chance in real life to develop an application that uses it), but it teaches you how to think logically and usefully to utilize the latest technologies in the most efficient manner. It was my first real encounter with multier technology, and it was the book that encouraged me to change my application development from the ASP tier to the VB COM tier. Finally, the examples presented was very helpful
