I did see Sam's Australian Story on television, so definitely wanted to read about him and Jenny. One gets no negative vibes whatsoever when reading about Sam's lows, which are far outweighed by his attitude, which leads him to experience highs others will only dream about.

Ok met my expectations. Had a few parks I mind when I ordered the book so they were included, even one that was relatively small and I thought unknown. Black & White photos so that is good. I am happy with this.

Jim's books are always a good read and MUST HAVE for your personal library.

As a born and bred NJ-ite, now living in NH, I really enjoyed seeing my childhood once again. Afterall, what Baby Boomer dos not know, at least via the song, PALISADES PARK? That place and Atlantic City were, prior to Disney World, the most recognized names for amusement. Having this volume is a real joy for this guy who lived in a summer home at Seaside Heights. A perfect item for anyone who wants to collect Garden State memorabilia and/or those who are fans of amusement parrls.

While the book is a tad out-of-date, (as the cover image displays proudly; RIP Casino Pier; it only covers up to the construction of Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure) it's still a great book covering the storied history of the Amusement industry in the Garden State from the very beginning. While some parts could have been given more content (Six Flags Great Adventure gets the same amount of coverage as parks about a quarter or less it's size) it's got all the goods. Hopefully an updated version can be released in the coming years. Hurricane Sandy created enough history to warrant a revised copy.

The only images available in "look inside" are the acknowledgments, contents, a couple of interior pages with scant pictures, and the index. Doesn't make me want to buy the book.

Very, very helpful and informative on the parks of New Jersey - some I didn't even know existed.Great book!

I wanted to love this. In part, the story is just hard. Lucy Maud Montgomery did not have an easy life and for someone who wrote such beloved characters, I couldn’t help wishing her story was different, even though I have read her story before. I think the book was well-researched, and the illustrations were beautiful. I believe the book has a younger intended audience, and it is written in a way that suggests it is for children, but some of the content would require care even for adults. I want to give a fair review, but I wish that the writing style contained more beauty, more flow... I think that any time we read L.M. Montgomery, even if we are reading another author’s words about her, the expectation is higher.I would recommend this book to the person looking for a factual account of her life, but not to someone who is looking for more of the worlds she shared in her books.

I purchased this book as a gift for my girlfriend, who is a big L. M. Montgomery fan, and she absolutely loved it. She couldn't stop talking about it, in fact. She loved the writing style of the biography and found the book to be very interesting.

This was interesting and informative. It is very matter of fact and easy to read. Also, the illustrations are really cute. I would recommend to anyone interested in learning basic facts about L.M. Montgomery's life.

Wonderful biography of one of the most famous authors in children's literature. This book is for anyone who has read and loved "Anne of Green Gables," and for anyone who hasn't even heard of it. Rosenberg vividly presents Maud with all her struggles and triumphs.

I really enjoyed this book. I learned things about L.M. Montgomery that I never knew before. Ms. Rosenberg did a wonderful job researching and writing it.

The author of Anne of Green Gables; wanted to hear the author’s life story after taking a tour to Prince Edward Island Canada.Very good book and well done story.

I fell into it and was wholeheartedly immersed in L. M. Montgomery’s life. Even while not reading it, I still felt as though my heart and mind were with L. M. Montgomery. Certainly, I couldn’t stop talking about it, as my husband could attest. It’s been quite a while since I’ve been completely absorbed in a book, and reading this was such a wonderful experience.L. M. Montgomery, or “Maud,” as she was called, is absolutely one of my favorite authors ever. I’ve read a good chunk of her works (and she was a prolific writer!), so to learn more about her experiences and what inspired her stories–especially those of Anne Shirley and Emily–was a lovely experience to begin with. It’s clear to see that Rosenberg loves Montgomery and her stories as well, because reading this as almost as close as reading a memoir, it was so filled with empathy and emotion. I felt like I was in a conversation with a friend, talking about another friend. It was a sort of: “Did you hear about Maud? She published a book!” kind of thing. I was joyous over Maud’s triumphs and saddened over how much loss and sadness she had within her life, but it’s a comfort to know that for all her struggles, she loved her writing, and those stories live on for us today thanks to her.Rosenberg gives a comprehensive overview of Maud’s life, from early childhood to late adulthood. I love that she was able to include direct quotes from the personal journal of L. M. Montgomery, which added a great touch of personality and authenticity to situation. It’s nicely paced–I never felt as though too much or too little time was spent on one thing. I LOVED some of the humorous anecdotes told. L. M. Montgomery could be one funny lady.What I most appreciated, however, was the frank discussion of mental illness. Both Montgomery and her husband seem to have had some forms of depression and anxiety, and I am so grateful to Rosenberg for tackling that head-on. The more we talk about these things, the more we share both the struggles and successes of people who live with this diseases, the more we normalize them and are able to seek help in managing them. It’s especially important for young people who might not know how to deal with what they’re feeling and what they may be experiencing to know that even those we look up to struggle with the same thing. I’m so glad this was included.This biography is magical, truly. I felt completely transported reading it and it’s been one of my absolutely favorite reads this year. Every Montgomery fan will find something to love about it, and I’m so glad I was able to learn more about L. M. Montgomery’s life and experiences. Thank you so much to Liz Rosenberg for writing this and Candlewick Press for publishing this. It’s extraordinary.

It's a good read to help you in the future, but my advice is when they leave take it as a lesson. It's not always meant for anyone to stay. I do believe in the no contact rule. They always come back, but why should you let them. Self love and self respect is what you need. If they didn't see the value in you when they were there, what makes you think they would change their views. We have this thing called intuition. Use it.

This book is packed with some great tips. I can’t say that I’ve gotten my ex back just yet but, the information in this book is very good and very good tools to use just for that purpose. I still have hope and will see how things progress as I fully utilize all the tools and exercises he has mentioned in the book.There's some great advice in this book. I want to improve several aspects of my life and I honestly think this book has given me at least some basic tools to start. I will be buying more of his books.

This is an excellent book. This book author well explain about how to manage relationship. If you’re reading these words, it’s because you are right at this moment going through one of the worst experiences it’s possible for a person to have.
