This book is everything that I heard it would be. It is a pleasure to read, and a joy to spend time in. The writers were monumental figures in the Christian arena, but here they have a way of making me feel that they are speaking on my level and directly to me.

A great book for any Bible interest person. The writings of the author's are fabulous. They are written by Charles Spurgeon, Luther, and many others. It has been very difficult to write this review since this is not a true word processor.

I loved this book. I could feel God's presence as I read the pages of the sermon's of these men of the past. I'm so glad their sermons were in print for all of us to read. Next to my Bible, it's my favorite book !

Before I have read this book, I'm thinking why all of those man is very wonderful Christian man as other people said that I don't know what They're thinking about Christ. This book is a classic in its own right. Brunton was a Western writer and materialistic to begin. But he travels about in India, interviewing yogis (who are hard to reach). He writes about different traditions of yoga. He is most impressed by Ramana Maharshi. (Ramana is not really a yogi.) He interviews an astrologer who describes ancient Tibetan astrology, etc. This is a book that can be read over and over. Unfortunately Christians would not benefit much, unless they want to grow spiritually.Brunton also co-authored "Conscious Immortality", which includes much of Ramana Maharshi's teachings.

Throughout my spiritual quest, almost all the spiritual books I've read "came" to me at precise the right time. As the Buddha's saying goes "when the student is ready the teacher will appear. I still don't know how I came across this jewel, but all I can say is "what an amazing teacher"! Written in 1935. Thank you Paul Brunton you made me experience the India I dream about. Thank you for introducing me to Sri Ramana Maharshi. This book is not one that will be saved in one of the Kindle's folders, this is a book one needs to return to again and again, especially the last chapter: Tablets of forgotten truth.

As one who has read many spiritual books and is a follower of Paramhansa Yogananda, I was thrilled in reading PB's book on India. I was most impressed by his encounters with holy men who could perform wondrous feats. Most people from the west think that so-called miracles stopped with Jesus. I was captivated reading his accounts of meeting and interacting with the true holy men of India. His dealings with the phony conjurers was interesting and showed how relentless he had to be to find true saints. His written experiences were fully convincing and reflect just how much we have to learn about our abilities to move beyond the physical world we think is our only realm of operation. I recommend this book for anyone seeking a path to self-realization. It was a great read and very helpful to me.

A wonderful book merging travel, spiritual seeking, yoga, India, history and interesting personalities. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this from the point of view of a yoga teacher. I am old enough to find the prose easy and natural tho a bit formal, and it was such a joy to steep in Paul Brunton's style of searching and writing. A valuable testimony, and as pertinent today as ever. Highly recommend.

I came to this book after discovering Ramana Maharshi. Mr. Brunton does an excellent job of recounting his adventure to India. He also does an really good job of capturing the essence of the message which Ramana consistently delivered to any who had the good fortune to converse or encounter him. I am forever grateful to Mr. Brunton for detailing his adventure in India and for introducing us to the teachings of Ramana Maharshi!

It is a first hand experience of the quest for the hidden teachings of the sages in India. Paul Brunton's descriptive abilities are amazing in this regards.

This wonderful story, at first seeming so archaic, stuffy, arrogant, western . . . is more and more and more wonderful and then done. Naturally enough it belongs with available works of the great saint Ramana Maharshi. It does not seem possible that Maharshi is not still there to go and visit at Arunachala. Yet, it has been more than sixty years ago. Impossible and meaningless, that time. For new readers, the kindle version is without Brunton 's photos, so far as I can tell.

Read it, learn and use. Devoid of hocus pocus. I want to read more of Brunton. Was apparently a major influence on Carl Jung, though never given credit by Jung.

Good book for learning Java, it covers the language in depth with both the visual part of Java and back end Java. I needed this for a college class but it makes a great reference for anyone interested in Java programming.MY RATING SYSTEM:I try to stick with the same criteria and system when reviewing products and here is how it breaks down…FIVE STARS: Great Product, would feel completely confident in recommending to others and consider the product to be a great overall value with no obvious faults.FOUR STARS: Still a very good product, I consider it to be overall a good satisfying purchase and can still recommend it in good faith but there is one small aspect about the product keeping it from a perfect score.THREE STARS: A good product but not a great one, it operates and appears as advertised but more than one aspect of the item is undesirable. This is an item I would use but probably consider an alternative option.TWO STARS: Product is definitely lacking in quality and or the way it operates. Would not recommend it to others and would seek and alternative elsewhere. It maybe just barely does what it is advertised to do but is probably not worth the money and there are many negative factors about it.ONE STAR: No two ways about it, this is a bad product and I would not recommend anybody purchase it.

Mind-boggling amount of typos--towards the end of the book, there were over 50 on one page! Publisher could not have cared less, was absolutely no help at all.

This is a very thorough and readable introduction to Java.I had to buy it for a class, and I was able to get a used copy (in excellent condition) for just fifteen dollars. That's a bargain!Highly recommended for anyone wanting to dive into learning Java.I care about the quality of paper in my books, and this one has those thin, but durable pages. They are ideal. It turns easily, and packs a lot of pages into less physical space.

As someone who knew nothing about programming at all, this book was a requirement for an introduction to programming in java course. Most who chose not to purchase the book, or just did not read it, suffered greatly and many dropped the course before it finished. But if you take the time to read the book, you will learn a lot very quickly and be able to race ahead of the classroom competition. With that said, the book is very well written and layed out. The topics covered in the book completely encompass anything you would expect to learn in a beggining Java course. After having read 2 other pure java books at the beginner/intermediate level, it makes me wish all books were this great quality and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to start learning Java. 5/5

I used it before and after lectures - it wasn't so dry that it was torture to read it and it was helpful enough as a reference that I went back to it. You can supplement your learning with a really easy read - Head First Java. One of the most insightful and profound pieces of literature I have ever read. This is the kind of book that will alter your perception on everything.

This is an exceptional work. Dr Grof proves to be a pioneer in the human psyche. The book gives a new dimension to psychiatry and psychiatric care. We had Freud, Jung and now we have Grof adding a new dimention to the human psyche with his decades of LSD and holotropic breath research. This book is a must read for everybody who wants to learn about the correlation of prenatal experiences and psychiatric or psychological pathology and expanded consciousness by controlled use of psychedelics like LSD.

This book is a must read for anyone intrested in a clear view of the LSD experince from one of the most knowledgeable experts on the subject.I also enjoyed the journy back through the sixties and seventies that sumed up how LSD became a class one drug.

It was extremely interesting to read about LSD and the research performed with it during the 70's. Did you know LSD has been used to treat patients with PTSD, as well as being able to speed up recovery time for drug abuse patients. It's also disconcerting to know that we're outlawed further studies using these psychedelics, but the book was very enjoyable.

Excellent is an understatement! This book is an unbiased view of the effects of LSD and beautifully presented. So much info and a very interesting read. Never gets boring.
